HST Incubator Quilt & Goals

This quilt was fighting me every step of the way yesterday as I tried to quilt it and in the end it was throw it out of the window or walk away. After leaving it on the 'naughty step' overnight to think about it's actions .... it cooperated nicely today and it is finished!! Actually, I'm not sure whether the problem was the quilt, the machine or me, but I'm glad it is resolved :)

I nearly finished all my goals for July:
- 9 patch swap blocks were all used and quilts finished
- HSTs were made into a quilt which is now finished
- House block mini quilt is finished
- Thimbleberry cats are still only as far as a flimsey ... I'm still pondering what quilting to do!!

Goals for August - there are none!!
I'm going to give myself a month off, just to stitch whatever takes my fancy. Not sure if this will result in more stitching or not ... watch this space :)

Ah, the naughty step - time to ponder and improve. Great, always works. It's looking good though, and well done on all your other finishes. Have a good August.

I'm pleased you saw it through - it's great! Also think it's great to give yourself some time off, you are very driven and sometimes we just need a break to recharge our batteries!

It looks wonderful - I love the sashing. I've learned to walk away when I reach the point of tossing one out the window too. Somehow it's always better when I come back to it.

It looks just great! In response to your question on how to quilt the cats, I've seen it with long whiskers on the face and background, and then a double swirl in the body that looks like a tail curled around. You would probably need to add a bit of stitch in the ditch or a few loopies, but it's an idea. Becky

Did you share the naughty step during any of that time, or was it the quilt's sole problem? lol

Maybe I can explain my UFO's this way.
